Broken axle TJ
« on: June 10, 2015, 06:31:51 AM »
I always love seeing this rig. So seeing it Rollin down Deerfoot this morning made my day!

Gave the owner a big thumbs up and carried on to work!

Is he heading to an event? Or more work at BA?

2015 sponsors and shout outs!
Broken Axle
Wickson Motorsports
Top Secret Customs

Additional thanks to Rick at Emmortal Customs and my cousin Bryce Ronayne (pit crew). And of course my beautiful co-pilot and girlfriend Jamee.

Bottom of hill climb (poop mode engaged)

Some sick cage work by Wickson Motorsports and Top Secret Customs

Mud drag. Smallest tires to get through (40" IROKS), 2nd fasted time out of those eligible to race for points, 5th overall time for event.

Popped our motor in the All-Terrain on Sunday (last event), I have some videos I'll post as soon as I get a chance to upload them. Trying to do a motorswap and finish everything we didnt for the rally in time for HRC Canada Day long weekend, hopefully see you there!

Uh no motor did not blow. No hole in side of the block. But rather allowed it self to be improved  on the next set of mods.
Can not speak forJason. Just what I think.

No that would be Jeff from Top Secret Customs, I have a blue 2009 F350 with a light bar on the roof. That would of been him heading back from the car wash since I dropped it off at midnight looking like this:

i read that right? you blew the motor?

Yes it lost power and started knocking hard halfway through the all terrain, then died. I could turn it over (very slowly) on the track. By the time we got towed to the pit it was siezed and there were some small metal shavings on dipstick. Still had lots of battery power to winch onto trailer.

Haven't had a chance to look at engine, went straight to work. My theory is wrist pin and the connecting rod hammered bottom of piston, hopefully the cylinder wall is ok, those blocks wont take much of an overbore.

Looks like you had fun. Was it a good experience despite the motor

Oh yes! 2nd year at this event and I'll be there again next year.

Already have another motor going in it, looks like we had a heating issue. Not sure if it was sudden and massive head gasket failure or a fan issue. Whole bottom end is toast but block and heads seem to be ok.

I don't think there was an issue with strength, but we will definitely rebuild for more power :D
