1997 TJ to 1999 and up PCM swap . Possible ?
« on: July 16, 2015, 04:25:49 PM »
Hoping you fine folks might have some insight on this topic.

Have a 97 4.0 TJ.  Want to put on a banks Sidewinder turbo, say's it only works with 1999 + TJ's due to the PCM.
Is it just as simple as pulling out the PCM from a 99 and throwing it in my 97 and flashing it ?

Thanks everyone !!

M

I would research what differentiates the 99 pcm from the earlier years. I doubt it is as simple as plug and play...the harnesses not matching may be your first issue. Good luck, wish I could help more!

Its going to depend on sensors and injectors. You will need to research which ones remained the same, and which ones changed.

Really appreciate your help guys !
looks like it would be more trouble than it's worth.
may as well wait till the 4.0 gets tired, and shove a 350 in it.
