Hey, all! New to the hobby and we will be working with this '97 TJ. Looking for some ideas for mods so I'll be lurking around.

 Welcome to the forum Josh. Yes there's plenty of that information on here from a variety of sources check it out!
Post a pic of your project so we  have a better idea of what you're starting with?

Can't figure out how to post a pic. The previous owner mentioned it needs new shocks.

If you aren't sure if it needs something then my experience may help. When I bought my jeep and before i was part of the CJA, I brought it to the folks at Brokenaxle to go over and let me know what I'd need to do to go offroading, and come home.

The Guys at Brokenaxle are active in the CJA so this recommendation may come across as "supported" or something... There are other offroad shops in Calgary too, but My experience was great.
