GWAS Events July and August 2021

Ghost Watershed Alliance Society (GWAS) has a couple upcoming events. I believe these events are for members. Membership is only $10 (https://www.ghostwatershed.ca/GWAS/get-involved.html) and you get access to really cool opportunities to learn things on how to create sustainable trails and the interconnectedness of it all.

CreekWatch in the Ghost Watershed - opportunity to join a sampling day:
Many of you responded to our call for volunteers for the CreekWatch program earlier this month and a training session took place last week. Thank you!
Today, we would like to offer you an opportunity to join two of our sampling days.
They will take place on Tuesday, July 6th and Tuesday, August 10th from 1-3pm.

Come and join us to learn how to conduct the testing and contribute to this citizen science effort along the Ghost River!

Community Families Explore Aquatic Life - July 9 and August 20, 2021
GWAS is offering two family outdoor events to explore aquatic life in the Ghost on Friday, July 9th and Friday, August 20th from 1-4pm.
Do you know what lives in the wetlands? Have you seen what lives in the river? Come explore life in and along the shore of the Ghost River! From amphibians to aquatic macroinvertebrates, there's lots of wriggling creatures to be found.

During this event, participants will have a chance to play games, listen to stories, and use basic materials to better see and understand aquatic life.
Please note: This event is for all ages. We request that adults accompany children.
