Help! - Just moved from Manitoba with lots of dumb questions.
« on: September 25, 2021, 03:06:11 PM »
So I went for a drive and came across McLean Creek Road and it looked awesome.  There's nothing like this where I came from.

All of the Jeeps looked pretty modified....and I have my stock Renegade Trailhawk (except for 'chunky tires').

1.  Are there any mild trails I can take my kids on?  Or do you need serious equipment to go anywhere there?
2.  Do you need a pass?
3.  Will my little Jeep get destroyed?  This is my DD.
4.  Anything else for a rookie to know?
5.  If not there, anywhere else I should be looking to go?
6.  What are the best local forums - outside of this one - for info?

TIA.

Hey! I’m from Manitoba as well. Was with the Red River Jeep Club before I moved out here.
McLean creek has a lot of great trails but they might be a little too much for your trail hawk. The waiperous area has a bunch of trails that you could do. The Transalta trail is a great place to start.
Look at getting trail map apps for your phone or tablet(avenza, gaia) and join some others if you can.
Keep an eye on our open run section and ask to join with your setup. There are a bunch of groups in Alberta on Facebook as well. Enjoy the trails and have fun!
