Oct 23 trip
« on: October 15, 2021, 09:44:46 AM »
Hey there. I’m pretty new to this group and haven’t actually been on any trips with you all yet. Spent the summer car camping with the family and didn’t get out at all in the jeep. I would love to take a trip to wiaperous next weekend. Anybody heading out for a chill day wheeling?

We might be up for that. Maybe go to Margaret lake or something. I've only been there once and it looks like I didn't save the GPS track. Anyway, I'm free to poke around and explore. Maybe I'll roast some hot dogs on the trail or something.

Many years ago, pre wife and kids, I had an 86 4Runner that got me hooked. Had to let it go as the sum of broken / rusted parts was just too much. A few years ago I  Sold the most reasonable, cost effective, comparatively comfortable but 100% boring car ever, a 2010 Hyundai Elantra wagon, and got a well upgraded Cherokee. I will be able to make it out this Wednesday and I guess we can chat more and make plans for Saturday.

Not sure if you saw the other post regarding this months meeting but the location has changed from Cravings to the A&W at Deerfoot Circle, Glenmore Tr just east of Deerfoot Tr.

The more the merrier!

So we talked about meeting up at 9am on Saturday and departing at 9:30. We can meet at the A&W in Cochrane (the location just off Cowboy trail). With the days getting shorter it's good to leave a bit earlier. There is a Tim's and Subway right down the street if anyone needs to grab something for lunch etc.

Map where we can meet up: 23 Westside Dr, Cochrane, AB T4C 1M1 https://goo.gl/maps/SoTFYMguQDxh6XYd7

I have no idea what trail we can do but I'm up for anything. I'll bring a map and we can see where everyone wants to go.

Vince: these are the seat risers I was talking about last night. Lets you angle the front of the seat back and gives the legs some relief. I ordered the Seat Slammers so I can get my big butt 2" lower so my head doesn't rub on the roof. Canada Post has been taking their sweet time delivering them. They've been on a truck and out for delivery every day this week, hopefully they actually deliver them today.
