Boxing Day 2021 run
« on: December 05, 2021, 10:31:25 AM »
It’s getting close to our some-what annual Boxing Day run so let’s get this going!

Meet at the A&W in Cochrane, 23 Westside Dr at 8:30 and leave at 9:00 sharp.
I don’t think the A&W is open Boxing Day so make breakfast plans elsewhere, (there’s a Tim Hortons across the road).
Hope to see lots of people out there for the day.

I’d rather do one of the Winter trails at Waiparous but will go wherever

I’ll be out of town for Boxing Day but this is always a good run for everyone to join!

Well that only leaves us with Trans Alta but that being said if there’s lots of snow out there by that time it was pretty fun when we did it last year? If I recall we couldn’t even make it very far past the ice wall… either way I am IN!  8)

Is that the only Winter trail open out there now?

As far as I can tell on the current map, all of the usual "purple" trails are open year round.

It’s the only designated Winter Trail… I.e. one that is only open in the winter. But as Adam pointed out all the regular truck trails are still available (loop around Margaret lake) that we’ve done other years

Gotcha, when I said one of the Winter trails I was referring to any trail open in the Winter, not just a Winter only trail

We’re going to postpone this run due to weather forecast, -25 could get sketchy if we ran into any problems.
