well its a waz away and alot can happen between now and then
but have been toying with the idea of running the rubicon trail in
california 2007 and wondering if anyone is interested, last year I
chatted with a couple in a tj "rubi" from saskatoon that did it and it
was a blast ...
I know there are tougher trails in the U.S., its alotta ga$ to get there
and back etc, but the thought is it would be worth it - its kinda the holy trail of 4x'ing - think of it as driving back/forth to edmonton 6 times but probably more memorable a decade from now; it might appeal to those
in the light to moderate wheeling catagory especially if your vehicle can highway the trip ( you wouldnt wont to burn up your boggers on the highway); it would be my holiday time for 2007 ...
I have never been but I read a little on it and recently saw a jeep 4x movie, the trail is east of sacremento calif, it famous as its been crossed by calif jeep clubs for several decades, jeep jamboree runs it and is partially? owned by some jeep clubs, it goes overtop the sierra mtns and lands in lake tahoe nv; there's no fee to crawl over it; it takes 2 days to cross - there are no facilities along the way, its used by jeep and hummer to test vehicles - as most everyone nows the tj rubi is named after it ,
its passable on 31's with bypasses, alot run it on 33/35's and have fun ...
if there is some interest post here and I'll take note, I can do some of the
initial leg work this fall and contact those interested with some details, might be able to get the video again in the future to peek your interests;
