Stocker Run?
« on: August 31, 2006, 08:11:43 PM »
I know in RedDogs and my own case, we didnt quite get the CB together in time to go on the last one. I was wondering if there were a couple guys that maybe wanted to take a few of us newbs out for another stocker run in the near future? I'd love to get some mud on the tires.

there may be a possiblity of a group of cherokee's going out on Sunday the 3rd to maclean,  i am in if i can get my front axle back together,... unbelievable that you have to strip the entire housing to change one friken axle seal.  for the most part we just run frs... the other don't have cbs yet.... i will post later ( friday nite or sat day if i am going )

the only requirements.... same as all other runs....
- tow hooks front and rear
- tow strap - NO METAL HOOKS
- cb's or frs required( prefer cb )
- good tires..... min all-terrians with lots of tread left
- and any other equipment/ tools required for offroad adventures

I'd be on if anyone else is.  I scrubbed my Montana plans and decided to hang around Alberta after all my errands in Calgary today.  I got set up this morning with a CB so I'm set... that is "set" as in for a rookie in a stock TJ with a lot to learn.

as it stands ... i am in for sunday..... just have to put to axle shafts back in, bearing and brakes and fill the diff ... ready to play.......  the meeting at the store for 900 sounds good... we will be ready to hit the trails - leaving the store between 945 and 1000.  looking forward to playing a little this weekend and showing my father what the mountains look like off the highway.

is this gonna be a run where a ROOKIE driver isn’t gonna totally kill his daily driver? Not to mention being a student, my most valuable possession.    :?

fony3 - If this is a plan I won't be venturing anywhere I don't feel confident in a stock TJ myself.  I've been out 3 or 4 times treading very lightly as a rookie.  I've said more than once I have a lot to learn and I've been very honest about that.  I've already taken a flop underwater as a passenger "observing" and "learning" this year and no way will I risk a repeat on my own at the wheel of my daily driver.  If we're talking enjoying trails in the sun and wilderness in the company of new friends, count me in.

Having said that, is there anyplace around for breakfast in the morning?  I was through Bragg Creek a couple weeks ago headed south on 22 but have no knowledge of the region otherwise.  Thanks.

sorry to all.... but i can not make this run to family member deciding that they want to do something else tomorrow.

to all the rookies... there is several trials out in maclean that a stock tj can make with no body damage if you take the bypass around a couple of obstacles. fisher west is one of them ( have had a stock yj on stock size half bald all terrrians through there with a couple little tugs due to clearance -  kept high centering )

as for those who could not make this run like myself.... i am planning to make a run out to maclean next sunday, sep 10 to play..... i will start a thread for that one later.

so to all that go out tomorrow have fun

Bummer.  Next time then fellas.   :(

If anyone's not doing anything holiday Monday, say the word.  I'd be on for sure.  The forecast is gorgeous and I'll supply the jumbo dogs and buns for the trail.
