Ok, here is one for you fellas. I was driving home last night and entered my drive way. I hit the driveway a little harder than usual, but nothing way out of what can be done with a jeep. when I noticed the brake pedal going to the floor all by itself. The jeep also started to slow down quickly. I tried to drive her the rest of the way up the drive way, but noticed major drag. It was getting late, so I decided to take a look at it in the morn.
This morning I took a look at it. and the same thing happened the brake pedal went down and the brakes engaged. I removed the large vacume line to the brake booster, just to see what happens. The brake pedal came up and the brakes work normally (well, for not having power brakes). Is this just the brake booster (diaphram or somethin)? I have seen simmilar things happen on import cars, but usually the ide becomes very eratic from vacume leaks. Not in this case everything seems very normal. Were can I get a brake booster for cheap, or can it be rebuilt?
Any options, opinions would be excellent. I still love my jeep, very much. As this is the first thing to go wrong with it in over 50,000 kms.
Thanx for anyones help.
Mike
P.S. Its a 94 YJ (if that matters)
