Things are always more difficult than they should be...

Why is it that things are always more difficult than they should be...

Long story short...my fuel pump pumped for the last time on Monday.  4, way too complicated, days later nothing has been done.  The latest set back?  When the hitch was put on my vehicle 13 years ago they decided to not only weld the hitch on but weld the fuel tank skid plate.  I'm sure you know what that means...I can't even fathom who would do something like that in the first place.

On a side note, I never realized how dependant I've become on a vehicle.  I take the train to work but when I get home I've been completely useless without a vehicle for the last week.

I know it was 13 years ago but...I'm not pleased with the work my vehicles had done at The Hitch Shop  :?

I'm just ranting, it seems like my complaining has been lost on those that don't understand...

If I was in that situation I would cut an access in the rear floor area of the Jeep, add a removable cover and future access wiil be as simple as removing a few screws.

I do plan on cutting my floor before I have a fuel pump issue and have to drop the tank (we both know Murphy will ensure fuel pump failure shortly after filling the tank)

I defiantly didn't think of that.

I thought it would a simple job and I had a busy week so I actually had it towed to a dealer but they haven't done any work yet and now the weekend is here I may as well take her home and do it myself.  There is defiantly less headache involved cutting through the floor instead of the skid plate.
