« on: September 26, 2006, 11:38:24 PM »
Looking to get out of town for the day and get a little mud on the jeep and break in the new ride...

So who is interested....... anything from stockers to modified are welcome... as long as the mininum requirements are on hand.

- atleast all terrian tires with a lot of tread
- tow points front and rear
- tow strap with loops... no metal hooks
- any tools / fluids that you require

I'm a definite possibility for Sunday if a couple minor issues fall into place as I fully expect they will, that is if the plan allows for a stock TJ and a relative rookie looking for more experience.  I'd bring campfire lunch for all in exchange for the patience.
I'd rather be dragging a club than clubbing in drag

Fony3 usually a run lasts the whole day.... but to each his own.

When you go whelling you shouldn't have "important" plans after because you never know what might happen on the trail.

Also If you don't know the area that well (and the people you wheel with)... how will you get home? When it's time for you to get going the group will continue on and you will probably have to leave mid trail by yourself unless there an other fellow wheeler that has the same plans.

Wheeling is extremely fun but can be very dangerous. You need to be prepared and i don't recommend anyone to go solo (ok ... I go solo sometimes but it's not the smartest idea   ... I usually have the gears to repair my jeep or to sleep in the bush)

I don't mean to bust your bubble fony but you better be safe than sorry.

i hope that helps......  :)

Cheers....

That is what i assumed, in no way did you burst my bubble. I just wanted to make sure it was an all day thing, and not just a a morning to early afternoon "event". There is no way i would go on the trails alone, like i said, i am a complete rookie in a stock jeep. I think the two of those could lead to absolute disaster.

Guess i'll have to take a rain check unless someone experienced decides they need to be back for the afternoon as well.

A run up top of the world can easily be accomplished in a morning...that said you do never know what can go wrong, hell I can't even seem to make to the local Napa and back lately without some sort of issue...

...some of which being my fault...
uh...

it is looking like it is going to be great day for a run in the bush... wet :D  :D  :D ,  as for the time frame of getting off the trail... i like to end the day on a positive note between 400 and 600.  it all depends on what trail we do and the general consesus of the group on what time to end the day.  fony3 ... if you really want to make the trip out... i am pretty sure that we can arrange to get you back to the road atleast but i can not guarantee the time that will happen.... as the saying goes... stuff happens and sometimes it can be deep and sticky.

anyhow..... can't wait to see how the grand cherokee does on the trail

My question marks have fallen into place as expected so I'm on - a rookie with a stock TJ (although upgrade plans are in the works).  My pledge of lunch on the trail stands.  Any idea how many Juicy Jumbo franks and matching buns I should anticipate?  I'm a chopped onion and mustard guy and I'll bring both for garnish.  Hope I can find this meeting point ok.
