I am buying some 33 12.5's and havent found a cheap set of used rims yet. Can I run the tires on the stock rims(no wheeling of course) until I can buy some spacers, or are there spacers available in town relatively cheap. I got a second baby on the way and my budget is lower than I would like.

I'm running 33x12.50-15 on stock TJ 15x8 rims on my YJ with no issues whatsoever. I ran 33x10.50-15 on my Comanche (MJ) on stock 15x7 Grizzly rims for 2 years, no rubbing. I also ran 34x9.50-15 Swampers on stock Steel 15x7 YJ rims on the MJ for off-roading, slight rubbing on full stuff, trimming took care of it.

I would not waste your money on spacers, for the price of 4 spacers you could buy a set of Rockcrawlers for about $100 more.

Sure try the 33's on stock rims but be prepared to adjust your steering stops to avoid rubbing on your LCA's if you are running an XJ, ZJ, MJ or TJ.

I have seen it done before but be careful offroad with blowing a beed. 8-10" rim is good for a 12.5" tire, but 7" will still work

I ran 31s on my XJ with my stock rims... I rubbed on my LCA's so badly I didn't want to make a turn. I hit up Country Tire in the NE, Kelly looked after me, would recommend him to anyone (if you go straight to a set of rims that have the righ backspacing, you'll also save the $ for mounting and balancing twice).

thanks for the info guys, I think I might go with 34x10.5x15 ltb's, as they are only 200$ more than I was gonna spend on used tires, and I wont need new rims. So i save money in the end and I get brand new tires.

ahh, you'll still need new rims... that's a big tire and it'll rub on your LCA's when turning if you dont' have enough backspacing to push the tire out.

You only need $0.10 for 2 or 4 washers to adjust the steering stops for no rubbing on the LCA's. Simple as pie to do and yes you can run stock wheels even 12.5 wide on 8" rims. I've done it several times ...

thanks for the help guys, I am running 31 10.5's now with no rubbing. I dont know if the guy who owned it before me put in washers, but if the 34's rub i'll just adjust the steering stops. I did it on my old yj with 39.5x18x15 boggers and it worked fine.
