OK, I read the two page spread, and I agree that a Viper v-10, LS1, Hemi and a Ramjet are pricey beasts.

However the thing that caught my eye was the Caddy 500cid.
I remember as a kid looking at my uncles late 70's Brougham and thinking that I could build a fort on the hood and he wouldnt notice.

How on earth could a 500cid motor fit between the framerails on a wrangler?
Barring a lot of engine bay modifications and perhaps moving and removing some items.

I'm curious, has anyone done a "caddy swap" to their rig?

I will admit that any engine swap isn't "plug n play"; but these motors are "everywhere". Specifically, at least 4 out on the family farm :D

i was thinking about it dunl, and my problem was the lack of availability and some of the crappy engines that are the right size to go in...  i mean, who wants to put an Isuzu engine in a jeep?  no thanx, i'll stick with my i-6  :P

I understand.  When my 1980 Mercedes 300SD's body finally gives up the ghost, I plan to put the engine into whatever jeep I have at the time.

She's just over 320,000 miles, so I figure should only be about another 15 or 20 years.
