So i buy this jeep not too long ago.  88 yj, fairly good condition, with the exception of needing a new slave, carb, and valve cover gasket.  No big deal.  But just a couple of days ago, something just sent me over the top.  I goto pull into my driveway, so im turning the steering wheel.  Steering wheel turns fine, but the tires werent moving at all.  So i lift the hood, and see that right out of the firewall, before the first joint from the steering, that metal sleeve and rubber center has been taped together with black duct tape.  There was no extention on the arm.  I had been driving a truck that had steering held together with 40Cents worth of duct tape.

Anybody know where the hell i can get this fixed, or something i can do?

You can get a shaft at Jeepstuff (http://www.jeepstuff.8m.com)

Or maybe someone here has one lying around.

Red Green would have been proud!!

Serious bone head. Simply amazing what you run into.

I'm glad you made it home without any damage.

Hey, just a thought, but it might be a good time to have a once over to see what else your master mechanic fixed with duct tape...
