myself and a couple buddies are heading out on sat (~11:30), not completely sure which trail, but will decide when we get there. I'd like to see how the VW performs. Are you thinking of chains?

There's not too many left   . You have Meadow creek/ Lost knife/ The trail to "almost" the Fall and the trail to Margaret lake. That's it....

There will be lots of ICE out there because the nights in the hills are still cold. Sliding backward in the trees is not the best. Don't try it..... take my word for it.

It look like it will be a nice day but I will not be able to join ya...

Be safe, have fun and respect the trails.

Cheers

I typically modify semi-truck chains to fit (cut the dual off and shorten), you can usually find them for next to free, once shortened they seem to fit 12.5” – 14” wide rubber reasonably well and they are also available in a v-bar configuration.

I will be in cochrane @ ~ 10:45, thinking the IGA

Yeah, well my last set (cut and shortened) fit 36x12.5 tsl's.

I usually stumble across chains when im not looking, found one set at a pawn shop years ago, the owner didn't want rusty chains hanging around.

I saw some at pick-n-pull in the summer when they had their garage sale, cheap!

I have a few miscellaneous chains kicking around but I have pillaged the clasps’ off these.

Note: all of these chains must go under the knife, they don't just fit unless you lucky but a set of chains should take no longer than 2 hours to cut down, shorten, fit, shorten ...... and stitch back together. oh, their a pain in the ___ to fit over the lugs if you cut them to fit snug.
