dying jeep?

hey guys i was driving through town today and hit a puddle and my jeep died in the middle of the road. i think my distributor or the coil is getting wet. has anyone ran into a problem like this? any help is much appreciated. im worried that this summer its going to be a big problem in the mud? :?:

yep, but not in the jeep so far and i hit the mamajama of puddles today too.  main reason i carry a can of WD40 with me.

yeah, i had this problem before, except the puddle was about 16 feet wide and 3 feet deep xD to clean it out, i use the marine grade cylinder fog, or ust some wd-40

yep. had that problem,

My distributor cap had a vent hole in it. It would leak in the big puddles. I replaced it with a different style of cap, still has the vent but it has a better venting setup. Sorry i can't remember where I got it.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

maybe when you get the new cap, get some gasket silicon and run a small bead along the lip on the inside of the distributor cap.  worked for me.
