Liberty fuel guage and heater problems
« on: March 21, 2007, 10:50:36 AM »
Ok...My boss has a 2003 Liberty, and he asked me to post on his behalf.

First problem he is having is his gas gauge shows empty when its full, and stays that way until hes at about a quarter tank left. At that point the needle starts jumping randomly. He told me that he pulled his tank and tested his gas sensor with a multi-meter, and it functioned perfectly. This means that there is a problem/short between there and the gauge...any ideas.

Second proble he has is the 2nd and 3rd setting of his fan speed do not work. I am assuming this is probably just a contact issue, has anyone else had this problem wiht jeep knobs...would it be easier to replace then to fix?

Cheers,
Brad

As far as the heater goes. There is a resitor pack that controls the fan speed. It;s common that they go.

That's the only fuel gauge issue I've ever seen on the KJ forums. Never had an issue with mine in over 4 years.
