New fines on QR77

Tune into QR77 tomorrow starting at around 7:30am(sorry for the late notice). They will be discussing the new fines effective May 1st.

Not complying with the lawful orders and instructions of a forest officer
   
$350

Not complying with instructions, prohibitions and directions on signs and notices
   
$250

Starting and maintaining an open fire outside of designated facilities in a Forest Recreation Area or within one km of a Forest Recreation Area or road
   
$500

Camping violations such as camping within one km of a Forest Recreation Area or overnight within 100m of a lakeshore
   
$150

Unauthorized setting of a trap, use of explosive or discharge of a firearm
   
$250

Discharge of a firearm to endanger persons or property
   
$500

Operation of on-or off-highway vehicles and snow vehicles in contravention of the regulations (i.e. operation outside of designated areas or timeframes)

where do these rules apply? and does the no fire or camping mean that you can be fined for camping at maclean creek , unless in the paid campground?

These rules have always been in place.  The fines for the offences have just increased dramatically.   So either they will enforce them similariliy to how they did before and if you didn't get fined before, you shouldn't get fined now.  The other option is that now that the fines have some bite, they may decide its worth the effort to fine people for these offences.  I think if you are out behaving yourself not being a jackass, you should be fine.  If you are doing multiple things wrong and give the Forestry Officer attitude he can now throw the book at you.
