(Ode to my CJ7............)

You came into my life as a shell of your former greatness, your suspension was shot, you were mechanically challenged, and we won't go into the condition of your body.......

I brought you home and replaced your worn suspension and put some larger tires on and I know I saw a glimmer when I stood back and looked at you when we had finished the first phase of our life together. We went out and played in the wilderness and you made sure you brought me home every time and we had lots of fun on weekends and warm weather days.

I then brought you in and began phase 2 the next winter, out came your worn, leaking motor and in went a nice "new-to-us" motor and went thru the rest of your system to make sure it was  up to snuff. We then spent a couple more years out playing with the new lease in life and you never disappointed me.

We then sat back and decided to go into uncharted territory and we were both unsure about the affects of putting Toyota parts into a Jeep, we both agreed we would try it as we both new that to go firther your axles weren't gonna handle bigger tires, so out came the stock axles and in went the Toyota axles. I know you had a little break in time with the new setup and we had a few "problems" and for the first time, you needed to be trailered home.

Lately we thought if we increased your safety areas that Jeep never full addressed, you could grow old with our family, but it became apparent that you just were never built to carry a full family and all the gear required to go play in the wilderness.

You sat in the garage while we figured how we could make you stay in our family, but it became obvious that it was time to spread your wings and go live with another family. We didn't want to sell you, but I think we found a good home for you and it is not fair that you are so close to greatness and sitting in a garage is not where you belong, you belong out in the wilderness.

I will miss you old girl, and I hope the new family you are going to will give you the love and attention that I have given you over the years.

Goodbye...........
