Front Brake Dragging

Heres a question going out to the group.  

93 Yj, replaced the front pads a couple months ago and all was fine.  

Occasionally the right front brake seems to drag causing one hell of a power loss and some smoke too.  I have had it apart already and couldn't see anything out of the normal.  Just got it home again (limping very slowly)  and its dragging again, it almost seems that sometimes the front caliper doesn't release.  

I will take the wheels off it once again tonight and take a look, have checked for rocks/dirt/mud hanging up in there and still found no aparent reason for it doing this.

Any ideas / suggestions?

my un-educated thoughts are...
something is preventing your hydraulic line from sucking the cliper piston back out. O2 might be trapped in the line....so bleed ALL brake lines starting from right rear, LR, Front right, FL. Failing that, check all lines for obstructions especially looking for a pinch or dent in the line. Failing that, replace the promlematic caliper. Failing that, try a professional or any of the ideas listed below.

sometimes calipers just seize,,,,,change it ,,or rebuild it

Or smash it with a wheel wrench until it stops. That's what I did.

a caliper is about 30 bucks.

the action that "releases" the pads is the square seal in the caliper pulls it back when pressure releases, i've had this dragging problem, you may have allot of mud/rust in the rubber boot b/w the piston and the caliper.

another possibility is the hubs are so worn that the disc's are all cock-eyed in the caliper and always rubbing (another thing that's happened to me)

Fixed.

Took the whole assembly apart, cleaned everything, bled all the brakes, replaced the front pads, took it for a test run and we're back on the road again.
