Looking for advice on Mclean trails
« on: May 13, 2007, 10:44:42 PM »
Heading out to Mclean may long to camp and do some wheeling. Im gonna pick up a map asap before that but Im wondering which trails you guys would recommend.
The rigs Ill be with arent huge but are still capable...XJ 31's 3", runner 32's 2", dakota 3" 33's etc etc so Im up for a challenge but nothing that will swallow us. Ive done alot of riding around mclean and some wheelin but dont really know trail names etc.

Any advice is appreciated  :)

Sylvester trail, priddis trail (top of the world), and valley trail are all nice trails for your group. They all should be labeled on the map, and are reasonably dry trails.

Caution, if a hole looks deep and nasty at mclean, it usually is, so be carefull. Lots of big trucks have chewed things up out there at times.

Ok thanks alot for the info. We do like bogs and mud over really steep climbs etc. Is top of the world quite a steep challenge or have the pics I've seen just been taken from a sharp angle?

One more question hopefully I can explain. Left at the mclean store down the gravel road, left at that dirt area where cars park and down that trail, then right immediately after that little bridge and not left up the hill. Is that east fisher trail?

Awesome, guess I did manage to explain it :)

What's your opinions on that trail? I know the first bit of it, after the right at the bridge, has been re-routed and bulldozed making it much easier to pass. How difficult is the rest?

i have not done it since they logged the area....sorry.
Lemonaid Jay would be a capable guy to go with and i don't think he charges to get you unstuck if you start the trail with him and are invited

Ya sounds good would be nice to run the trail with someone who's done it before...my rig isnt quite as big as yours though. Think my tires are a mere 20 inches or so smaller.
