Hello All,
New to Calgary, just moved from Toronto.  Waiting for my Army job to kick in, but while I'm waiting I had to Out of Prov. my 99 XJ.  Its all still Stock.
I had to replace my u joint,  the Cross peice that has the bearings in it.
Does anyone know how long that would take?  How many hours should the Mechanic have charged me?

My other one seems to be acting up by squeaking, so I'm thinking about replacing it but I can't afford a lot while I'm not employed yet.  Does 1 hour plus parts sound fair?  or would it be more like 2 hours.

I would also like to get involved with any local builds, and maybe if anyone can help me replace my u joint, I'd love to meet some of the local "jeepers".  I live in the Mission SW area.

Thanks in advance.
Glad to be here.
Cheers!
Jack.

You can't get anything done for 1 hour at shops these days.  I would not be surprised if they charged you 2 hours per side.
