my cj apparently has a full floater rear  diff  ....my question is   what does that mean??  is it an open style  (one wheel drive) or limited slip or what

are you  sure your CJ has a full float? full float has nothing to do with the differential itself. might wanna confirm what ya got first;)

full floater has to do with how the load of the vehicle is transmitted to the axle shaft.
