Line-x/Rhino Lining the tub?
« on: August 13, 2005, 05:35:29 PM »
Anybody get there tub sprayed with Line x or another similar product here in Calgary recently and care to share the cost they paid.  Don't have time to go get a quote, but higly considering getting it done after this last rain we had.  I had my top down and didn't know it was raining until 4 hours after it started, now the carpet smells rank and I don't like pulling it all the time to air it out.

Thanks.

I did my XJ with a can of Hippo liner from Canadian Tire. Couple of hours and $40 for the can and supplies. Just rolled it on with a roller. Actually the wife did most of it while I was putting the tranny back in.

i used the hippo liner from crappy tire. used almost 2 cans of it, 3 coats, and instead of the cheesy little roller they give you get yourself a stuco roller from home hardware or something. it stood up better and gives the liner a more coarse look to it. i prefer it....only drawback is it is a little harder to clean due to it being poarse....but that dont matter much to me.....

good luck

I did the whole lower half of my XJ and it turned out awsome (in my opinion). If you want a professional looking finish, spray it on with an undercoating gun at 40 psi.

you can pickup a schultz gun at princess auto for cheap when them come on sale. i wanted to do mine like that, but couldnt find a container to screw in under the gun, got ansy and just did it by hand. een with the roller it turned out damn near like my dads truck that was professionally done

Wow, that looks great Cablesmurf.  Just so I'm sure, that was the hippo liner right?

I will be doing that soon. I gotta hit the Crappy Tire and pick up some cans. I will be doing it with a spray gun for sure. Will 3 coats do a can? $40? Maybe even this weeked, if I got the cash.

I just installed my new Mustang seats off like an '89. Its way better now I can sit normally. The back rest was twisted and broke. I sit higher up with the new seats being abit taller. Time to cover them with new fabric. I was pondering the idea of leather, is this a good idea? I never had leather, but I know in the winter they get cold, in summer they get burning hot. I was just thinking since I can take the top off, and mud can easily get into the cab, or if I sink it in a mud hole, how easy it would to clean. Wouldnt it be better then regular fabric.

You will probably need to pick up 2 things of Hippo, I did mine last weekend with one and I only got 1.5 coats on her and I was also rolling mine on.  I think its a bit more the 40 bucks I think its about 55 for one box of the stuff.
You could just cover your seats in a garbage bag its cheap but it would work.
