I'll check our Rememberance day Schedule with my Unit,  but I'm pretty sure I've got the 10th off.  Is CJA doing a run and where.  I'd like to bring a CF G Wagon and possibly some members of the Kings Own if they are interested.

I'm a Recruiter working for the Communication Sqn.

Cheers!
Jack.

I am not sure if I will make it that day. I spend Remembrance day each year with my dad. He is a WWII Veteran who served aboard HMCS New Waterford. We often end up at the Bownness Legion or with the Corvette Club, not the car but the boats, for the day. If it is a easy run and not to long he might be up to riding along.  I will talk with him and see what he wants to do for the day.

Jack since you indicated you are with the Communication Sq. you might be interested my dad was a communication rating on the New Waterford.

Well it was a good idea, but my dad has already committed to be part of a ceremony at 11:00. They are having a more difficult time finding WWII Veterans to participate in the services. So I think I will be his driver for the day. Enjoy our run.

Remembrance Day events would be held on Oct 11th, your run is the 10th so you might be able to do both.. :)

Thanks for pointing that out Gun. I should have looked at the date for the run / post. Looks like I should be able to do both. Come to think of it I remember we moved the run back one day last year due to the conflicting activities with my dad on the 11th.

Thanks,
Blair

Sounds like I've got the Sat off, ( Parade on Sun).  Now all I need is to sort out the G Wagon for the Date.  I'm hoping some KOCR's will come out.

Just a cautionary.  I do NOT believe I'll be able to take anyone out for a drive in the G Wagon, Insurance Restrictions.  You guys, girls, can climb all over them all you want while parked, but no rides.  I'll comfirm this, but I doubt they'll let me.

Looking forward to the 10th.

The Kings Own Calgary Regiment is an Armoured Recconaisance Regiment who's primary vehicle is the Mercedez G Wagon.  They did not have a great year with Recruiting last year and I can't understand why?

I was paid to Wheel a Mercedez!  And if you joined them you would be too! It is probably a matter of exposure and getting a better footprint in the community that will help out with their Recruiting woes.  I hope the 10th will do that.
If anyone is interested in getting paid to wheel a capable rig or know's someone who is interested, please don't hesitate to call me.

I give one hour Presentations about the Forces, the types of jobs we have etc, each Wed night at 7pm at HMCS Tecumseh located at 1820 24th St SW, @ 24th St and 17th Ave in the SW.
Hope to see you there.

Cheers!
Jack.

Which trail?

Can someone please tell me which Trail we'll be using?

I have the G Wagon on loan from the KOCR's.  I will be restricted from certain trails.  Please let me know which trail so I can run it by the KOCR's.

Thanks.

Jack... most is the trails in Maclean have hills and can be narrow. There are always a chance for of body damage. I don't think the trails that Nathan have in mind are very hard but they are not dirt roads either. If there are more chalenging sections ...there are usually by passes.

What kind of a vehicle is a G Unit? Is it like a Jeep?
