A site for you to check
http://www.angelfire.com/my/fan/stroker.htmlAnd just a thought, or three...
I've considered doing a stroker build as well. I've been in touch with a company in Ontario that builds strokers ($3000 + shipping) and have questioned them about buying a rebuild kit from them. they refuse to sell a rebuild kit, citing lots of problems with quench and pre-ignition. A fellow I used to know back in NS built two strokers. He's an ex-Chrysler tech who now owns his own off-road shop. The first motor ran great. The second blew to pieces in 20 minutes. Another guy I used to know in NS, Bill Ansell (tech guy for Pirate 4x4 now) seemed to have some problems combating pre-ignition on his stroker as well. Building a 4.0 stroker seems to be pretty tricky work. For me, I'm dying to try it, but I don't know if I have the ability to pull it off yet.
What I've wondered about doing instead is doing a 4.0 rebuild, but having the reciprocating assembly balanced, and the head ported and polished ($700 at Temple of Torque, or do it yourself) upgrading to a newer factory intake manifold
(

I think that's comparable to a stock TBI Chev 350, maybe better. That's what I'll be shooting for, and it will be enough for me when the time comes (probably next year).
If you got the know-how and the coin, GO FOR IT! But it looks like you can make some pretty decent HP and Torque without as much money or problems.
Oh yeah, one more page for you to check.
