Let's make it officially an open run.
Easy trip to margaret lake/falls ??
I'll lead the run if I can, not sure of my work schedule at the moment, more info to follow
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

margret lake / the falls  are out in the Ghost area.... basically the only trails that is left... nice easy run.... some sections can still be quite tricky because of the ice conditions out there but doable.   ;D

Is this doable in a Stock JK 4 Door Rubi? I wouldn't mind coming out if I can.

Anyone have a map? How far from Calgary?

Thanks!

This is the plan at the moment.
Leave smitty's at 9 sharp. Hi- ball it all the way to the falls Stopping to air down, probably at 4 corners. I made it to the falls by 11 once before  in winter, So I am aiming for noon. We will have a fire, cook up what ever  you want to bring along. BS for a while then start heading back. we will take out time coming back, I imagine the group will split up with some going to margaret lake, some heading down to meadow creek, some heading home.
Requirements
Good tires.
Solid front and rear tow points, no bumper mounted wimpy tow points etc.
It's winter.. Chains and winches are very good idea, I have no idea how much ice and snow will be on the trail by next week.
Proper tow straps, looped ends. No metal hooks.
CB's....not FRS we need to be able to all talk and listen on the same channel.
Again it's winter time, stuff happens, be prepared. On the boxing day run a jeep ended up on it's side, on a fairly mild trail with a very experienced driver. ANYTHING could happen.
It is open to anyone who meets the above qualifications. jeeps, toyotas, land rovers, members, non-members etc.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

Meet us at the smitty's in cochrane, It is on hwy 22 just south of the 1a hwy. Then it is about 45 minutes to the trail head.
Do-able in a rubi with lockers, Like Cotaman said. Body damage is always a possibilty when off-roading

I was out there a week ago.  There isn't much snow out there, boot top on my hiking boots at the most.  The river crossings are pretty much frozen, although the Toyota Taco did manage to break through the ice up to the axle with one wheel.  We didn't encounter any significant ice on the trails.  We did Lost Knife, Meadow Creek, went to the "falls" and Margaret Lake.
