superior 35 kit
« on: January 16, 2008, 10:53:28 AM »
Any one running one of these?? How well does it work?

Heres a link:

http://www.4x4wire.com/jeep/reviews/super35d/

Just wondering if it might be better/less costly to run this instead of doing an axles swap? (rubi 44's are expensive and hard to find)

Opinions/Comments?

Thanks,
Av9

I know spyder is running one, but she is on 33s.  If you are planning on running 36-37s I don't think it will hold up.  I have read about several people on the US boards that have gernaded their R&Ps as they become the weak link.

If you want to run 36-37s you will need a D44 or a Ford 8.8 as a minimum.

As far as running 33" Spyder has put hers through some very hard tests and it has always held up.

I guess it depends on how big you plan to go.

Im currently running 36's. But this kit is something like $1000 while the axle is $2500. I'm not really a jam on the gas kind of wheeler either.....

Spyder runs 33's and a 2.5L,  that's why she's able to get away with allot of that stuff without breaking.  I'm sure it would be a different story if she ran a 4.0L

Also I am pretty sure that spyder has a truss on the axle which helps a lot

What did you do to get 245HP out of your 5.2?

And no I don't think a D35 anything will hold upto 245HP.

K&N  FIPK  says it gives 20 hp, and stock the 5.2 has 220. so given the upgrade, and the age of the vehicle, your right, its probably more like 200hp haha (maybe)
i'm still afraid of the gas with a trackloc in the rear and 33s....
