Drafting Program
« on: January 20, 2008, 10:59:26 AM »
I'm looking for a computer drafting program. I gust want to draw out some of the ideas in my head. I went to Best Buy and Staples and the only thing they could suggest was mini cad at the tune of $500. Their has to be another program.
thanks

Check out Visio. Haven't used it for a few years but it will handle 2D stuff. Not sure of pricing.

If you're not worried about scaling or precision you could even mock up in Powerpoint or some of the paint type programs.

I've found deals on older versions of software in the bargain finder and Kijiji - if you don't need the latest bells and whistles an older version will probably suffice.

google "sketch up"  its  a free download program that we use at work.  it might do the trick for you.
apparently if you search "cherokee" theres bumper designs there already.

this program is for designing and doesnt take long to learn.  maby a couple of hours only.
good luck
