I did this, and man what a difference.  Not so much high end, but it pulls alot harder from 2000-4000.
This really works. If you havent already done this try it.
Im sorry if this is old news (Im always the last to Know anything)

Buki, did you do this to you 4 banger?  I had the TB spacer and 4.0L TB and it did not do much.  Also that guy had a lot of other mods to his Jeep, like the ignition and exhaust.

I put the 4.0l TB on and the helix spacer on my tj. I still have the spacer. It made a small difference for sure. I didn't like having the 4.0 tb, my jeep had more power but I could never get the jeep to idle and run smooth at low rpm's. This was a real problem when trying to crawl on slippery/icey off camber trails.
I also lost alot of the engine breaking ability and found I was using my brakes alot more on down hill slopes.
I'm alot happier with the performance of the original 2.5 TB.
Grinding the intake would maybe improve the idling characteristics,
Let us know how the mod works on the trail. I'm sure it works well on the street.

I Had put the tb spacer and the 4.0l tb on and found very little difference.  So Ijust kept it in for almost a year and never really thought that the money was well spent.  UNTIL I ran across this article about boring them all out to the same size and smoothing the edges on the spacer.  After that I would say its very well worth it.  I really did see what the guy was talking about when I opened the butterfly up and looked down there was like a !/4 inch of metal all the way around.  So now all the parts are working in unison and the power is evident.  I noticed a seat of the pants difference in my yj and I run 33s without geering done.  As he says every jeep is different and as for the power gains, I dont know about 25ish horse but I do think there is more.  My Jeep is more responsive all through the powerband.  Im getting up hills in 4th that id have to drop to 3rd to get up.  I dont think that just a spacer and 4.0l tb are what made my jeep wake up, Im sure that the boreing of everythingwas the real step.  As for the trail we'll have to wait and see.
But all said and done not a bad pay off for 2 hours of grinding with my new $20 dremel (finally got to use my Christmas present)
