Green Mean Alternators
« on: February 13, 2008, 10:08:11 AM »
I have to change out my factory alternator because it is getting old and I don't really trust it any more now that I have winch plus  I want to install some off-road lights.  My intention was to install a Green Mean high output alternator to compliment the Optima battery.  The down side is that these alternators cost over 4 times what a factory replacement from Parts Source costs.  Does anybody run a Green Mean??  Are they worth it??

Go to Amperage Tech and get them to rebuilt your alternator for a high output service.  They will built almost whatever you want or check out this link, http://www.bc4x4.com/tech/2004/jeepalt/

I got a buddy that runs one in his YJ, it's hocked up so you flip a switch to weld off it.  Saved us many times out in the bush, i'll see if i can get a pic.

Here's some pics

Me too.. but it cranks 160 amp... mine was about 250... you run it directly to your batery with a hudge fuse....
