balancing?
« on: April 27, 2008, 02:33:52 PM »
so I got these new rubber Iroks 36x13.50 on 15x8.5 " rims and have 10oz bal beads in each tire how smooth can I expect to get my ride cause I am going  to be replacing steering components steady the way it is now. It's really bad around 70-80 kms and gets a bit better as I speed up, how long can it take to get the rubber warm enough to get ride of my flat spotting? thanks for the feed back

Bias or Radial?

Since you have BBs I'm guessing Bias. Usually takes mine about 5-10 km to warm up, more is its been sitting for awhile or its cold out. Have you seen the lugs on that tire? Its never going to ride nice on the highway......

yah I am not talking about a nice ride I am talking like I can't control the steering wheel! I would be happy with a rough ride. yup they are bias ply so I am not expecting too much just this is ridiculous. I am almost leaning towards the idea that I have a worn steering component which wasn't showing up with my 33s but is now here with the 36's so I am going to check all that stuff out and go from there. Any advice is greatly appreciated I want to be ready for may long.first year as part of a 4x group so I am stoked about that.

You definately have something wrong in the steering department, possibly steering stabilizer or tie rod, also after reading Bnines post if you are running your stock front control arms the bushings may be worn out causing death wobble. I have Bias ply 33" TSL's with only 3oz per tire and have no tire vibration or steering issues.
