got a crazy rattle/banging if i go over 2 grand! any help or know a mec? i went to crazy when i got stuck and i think i did something real bad some body told me it maby a lifter?

What are you driving and did you dent the oil pan? Maybe on the side from the trac bar?

a dent in the oil pan is a possibility, or it could be a rod bearing or something.  i'd have to take a look to be able to tell you for sure.

it is an 88 xj 4.0 inline 6. ya i got it stuck in some mud and pushed her to hard! dont know anybody to get me out some random dude pulled me out after the damage was done. I cracked the coolant pressure bottle & now i hear that banging in the valve cover i think . i limped her home but dont wont to driver her any more

I dont have a rattle or a bang, but I do get a very high pitched squeal, almost like a whistle, when I got between 2.7 and 3G's +. I thought I'd keep it in this thread.

Sounds like something is about to snap, but I have wheeled like that always and been up to 5G's under highly stressful inclines in 4L, and never had anything break. Fluid levels are always fine. Seems to come from the front end. Any ideas?
