Hi Everyone
« on: June 03, 2008, 02:40:26 PM »
My friend at work told me about your website so I figured Id join it and become a member of your club. Im almost 19 and my jeep is my first vehicle so Im learning a lot. The reason I wanted to join is so I could meet new people to go wheeling with since my friends never want to go. I also want to be able to help keep trails open so that my kids can enjoy them one day. So Im wondering how often do you go on trips and how do I join?

I am going out on Saturday.
you are going to need the club requirements. CB, full size spare, front and rear tow points and tow strap.
What do you have for a jeep and what mods have you done?
Why does your Jeep say Toyota on it?
The obstacle is the path.

ok well i dont have a cb, or a fullsize spare. I have front tow hooks and a strap. For rear recovery I use a ball hitch not sure if thats allowed or not. My jeep is an 89 YJ with the 4.2L, TF999, NP237, dana 30/35. Everything is stock except I removed the sway bars and track bars and I'm runing 31x10.5  tsl's.

On YJs it is not a big deal, tons of people remove them.  The leaf springs tend to be stiff enough

Funny no one said anything about the ball hitch...?   :-\

I wouldn't use that... they have a tenancy to shear and become a deadly projectile...  on occasion.

It is best to remove the hitch and use the receiver with the pin instead of the hitch

you can also pick up a tow hook that slides right into the ball area or i beleive it fits right into your reciever or if you have bumperetts those are also strong enough to get dragged outa somthing lol as i own a 95 yj lol who all going wheeling sunday ??

THE BUMPETTES ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO ACT AS TOW POINTS.  THEY BEND AND EVENTUALLY BREAK OFF.  I HAVE SEEN THAT A FEW TIMES

Just a quick question.  I have the front recovery points, strap, lift, full size spare.  CB going in this weekend. Now how does one join?  Just come to a meeting?
