97 Jeep Cherokee Stereo Issue.
« on: June 26, 2008, 05:17:22 PM »
Ok,so i'm hooking up a system into my jeep and i've got everything wired up but yesterday i had a problem with the remote wire, not really anything to do with the jeep though but i got rid of that problem by hooking up the remote wire to the cigarette lighter positive wire. Now i have another problem, after i finished up mostly everything,i go to turn the ignition on and see if everything works,so i turn it on,the deck only allows volume to go to 6 then shuts off,i try it a few times and same thing, then when i go to start the truck, theres no gauges showing and it just ticks,no turning over? There's still beeping when the door is open and stuff but no power.Any idea what the problem could be? Anyone willing to come help a fellow jeeper out?

Thanks,Chris.

Well the remote wire connects with amplifiers....Wondering if it had something to do with that.

It was nothing bad,i had seen on a website somebody connecting the remote wire from the amp to the cigarette lighter so i thought i'd do that myself but i didn't know that it always has power going to it so the amp i guess drained the battery. I later just boosted it and it's all good.
