Heat...all the time.

Hey guys,

Brand new to the site and to Calgary.  All the way from the east coast and bought a 97 TJ as soon as I landed. 
My question is the heat seams to be constantly on.  The Hot/Cold slider is pretttty stiff and even when put on full cold, she just pumps the hot air out.
It gets a little toasty on the feet driving down the Deerfoot in +25 C...

Wondering if anyone has run into something similar.  I'm thinking then vent could be somehow wedged shut/cable come unattached??  I have no idea.
No AC just the basic air.

Temporary fix is vise grips on the heater hose under the hood. Did that on an old ford soaras for three summers lol.

id look at a vent that stuck somwhere in the system.

ive got the same problem. roll the window down. i couldnt for the life of my figure it out. and it weird, i freeze in the winter

Hahahahah love the vise grips...

Yeah I'll have to have give it a good solid once over some weekend soon and see if it is a vent stuck on.
I'll post if I ever find something worth mentioning about it.

i ran into the same problem bout 6 yrs back driving across canada....  ended up putting a ball valve in the heater hose.. been running it that way ever since.. when i need heat, i open the hood, turn the valve, presto!!!!  instant heat.  from what ive read, one of the "gates" that is used to stop the flow of air has plastic tabs on it.. then break very easily... thats prob your problem.
