jamboree's live on
« on: July 31, 2008, 08:25:37 PM »
hey,  was a jeep jamboree junkie back in its day - anyone miss those days ?

so, went camping on the weekend in our tent my daughter won at the jamboree with pats driveline/arb etc all over it ,  then 7am next morning getting ready for a trail ride with rubi packed tug strap etc in a jamboree pack-sac found dusty in garage also won at a jam ...

cause the sites been up/down was browsing and found this forgotten pic of the old yj chugging along a sloppy crazy coyote run - awesome day  :)!

USA still has their jamboree's  ( http://www.jeepjamboreeusa.com ) .. thats maybe one reason why they dont know much about kanada, they too are working hard to keep their trails open - god bless america and those dedicated in kanada keeping it going!

jamboree lives on in my jeep for sure. everytime i look at my passenger side door which i slammed into a tree (tree was ok, don't worry) two years ago in Penticton at the last Jambo.  oh, and everytime i use washer fluid, cause i broke the little pump in the fluid resevior off at Jamboree, and proceeded to silicone and duct tape it all back together, and low and behold, it still holds to this day.......

so yea, Jambo will live on, and i can't wait for another one

Hey, yjcanibul that trail was Crazy Cougar and it is one helluva trail if you like mud.

Maybe we should start a petion / request for another Jamboree ?????   ::)

No offense but it is going to take a HELL of a lot more than just a petition.  The reason the jamborees died was because Chrysler was losing too much money and the sponsorship was pulled.  It was hugely disappointing when that happened because I had being going to the jamborees in Alberta and BC since 2000.  That is where I learned how to offroad.  Now since the jamborees are no more, I look back and realize those where the days of Jeepin'.  Oh the memories  :-\ :'(

BlackYJ yup your right it was crazy cougar not coyote  :o - broke my tug strap on that trail ,  that was a day I'll never forget - those jams are where I learned about driving too ... wheels in the air or sitting on skid plate - twisted/contorted/stuck was a normal day ... hee hee ... what a blast !

with so many jeeps ( like 60 or 80 ) at basecamp had time to check out what people were running - some nice hardware showed up on those trails, like a supercharged tj from grande prarie ( got pics but cant post  ;) )

rubi,  road trip for sure ... my old yj will make it to moab and rubicon trail more than once before it sputters its last breath  :)

giffer,  yup just poking fun at our US counterparts and how we believe they dont know much about their neighbor ... if they ever start tracking the heap of jeep parts coming north they might think we're building our own army  !!
