t18a tranny in a cherokee

here is the story just did a t-18a and dana 20 t case swap out of a junk yard j-20 and installed in my 78 cherokee went to go for a spin noticed there was fluid coming out of the bearing end plate no big deal pull evrything out went to put in a new seal except there wasnt one in the end all there is are these spiral cut grooves in the inside where I thought the seal should go wtf!!!! was going to machine a relief in the bearing cover but not enough material to do so . amother problem this bearing cover is about 12 inches long and a standard one from a t18 is only about 5"long HELPneed to go wheeling this weekend thanksJason
