I'm still in for this, but can I get some help getting my stupid CB tuned?  I was at it about an hour tonight and it will not work.  Got the SWR meter from Road King.

Where are you?  I'm in the NE (if you dare come up here)... and have my own (Radio Shack) SWR meter etc.   How bad is your SWR?  Unless it's going to burn up the radio, we don't tend to use them for long distances on the trails :D

Let me know, I'm planning on being home tonight.

I'll PM Contact info.

If you can't arrange to hook up with tinkerer, I'll gladly lend you a not-so-expert hand. I've only ever tuned one antenna, but I was able to get myself into the 2.0 SWR range. I'll be out on Saturday, so we can tune it up during a stop and then test while running.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

Excellent, you have your priorities in order.  If all goes well I might be up for Sunday as well.  I have to goto Cold Lake for work on the 1st so I want to do as much as possible.

Once we get through meadow creek trail, and cross the river...you can decide to carry on, or take the trail out to thr Trunk road..........choice is yours.
Price of a handheld is almost as much as cab mounted unit..FRS will work also....but neither is mandatory. Stick to the middle of the wagon train and ur ok. Nobody gets left behind anyways !!! :)

If I get my "stuff" together (family forum), I'll bring my 2 handheld CB's with 12V power cords and 2-4 FRS radios.   I now have my built-in CB installed as well as my VHF/UHF Ham Radio.

I'm tempted to take tomorrow off to prepare for the trip... just to make sure we have what we need in case of an extended stay.  I still don't have my super-soaker :)

Should be interesting after all the rain!
