if they are any good they can charge it by pressures.... probably only a 1.25 pounds or so.
if we were smart with our money we wouldn't own Jeeps.

I took it to the dealrship here in Canmore to put a new engine in it...after our little surfing the wave incident....took them over 2 weeks and they can not find the specs on it...i was told they need the numbers off the air system, was told to open the hood look on the system and get the numbers LOL...if we don't get these number by monday i don't get it charged.....will also be the last time my tj goes there.

Also some #'s on the back bracket,(1/2 coverred by a bolt) I dunno about those telling anything about the charge ?

I've heard bad things about the dealer in Canmore... gal I know that lives there and drives a Jeep takes it to the Ford dealer, the only one she swears by, but then she knows someone there :)

I'll look at my system tonight... the dealer should be able to find whatever they need on the dealer system as someone pointed out.  They are being lazy or stupid... pardon for being so blunt, but I calls 'em as I sees 'em.

I'll also check my FSM for my '04 Rubi.

MANIFOLD GAUGE SET CONNECTIONS
CAUTION: Do not use an R-12 manifold gauge set
on an R-134a system. The refrigerants are not compatible
and system damage will result.
LOW PRESSURE GAUGE HOSE The low pressure
hose (Blue with Black stripe) attaches to the suction
service port. This port is located on the liquid line
near the evaporator inlet tube at the rear of the
engine compartment.
HIGH PRESSURE GAUGE HOSE The high pressure
hose (Red with Black stripe) attaches to the discharge
service port. This port is located on the
manifold directly over the discharge port of the compressor.
RECOVERY/RECYCLING/EVACUATION/CHARGING
HOSE The center manifold hose (Yellow, or
White, with Black stripe) is used to recover, evacuate,
and charge the refrigerant system. When the low
or high pressure valves on the manifold gauge set
are opened, the refrigerant in the system will escape
through this hose.

No...
there will be some sort of a lable "somewhere" stating how much refrigerant (R134a) there is in the system. A charge is weighed in, so the lable will be in lbs, or kgs, not fl oz, or mL.
That stuff is info on the oil (POE) that components will hold.

Scott/Kerri... did the shop pressure test, and evacuate the system properly, yet? I am going to guess NO, since they can't/won't charge it up....
