Halloween Weekend - Waiporous or Mclean Creek
« on: October 25, 2008, 06:12:32 PM »
Hey I want to take my Heep out for a run, either the Saturday or the Sunday either Mclean Creek or Waiporous.
Did it alone before and paid the price     :-[      so I would like to go out with someone
Bone stock black 2000 XJ 4 door
What do I need to buy to be prepared to go out for a run?
I will definately buy a CB Radio, have the stock tow hooks front and rear.

As far as I can say now I'd be on for Saturday.
I'd rather be dragging a club than clubbing in drag

I'm probably in for Saturday...but I'd like a nice easy run. Definintely something that "stocker-friendly"
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

That sounds ok by me - Saturday, 10 am at the store. The weather looks dandy too.

Channel 10?

What do I need to buy to be prepared to go out for a run?

Things I keep in the truck while wheeling:
shovel
tow straps
come-along (hand winch)
gas can
toolkit
7gal air tank (for re-airing tires afterwards)
small saw

Princess Auto can get you all of those for unbelievably cheap.

I might be in for this trip. It's no Jeep though!

didn't w squared do the Jeep 101?

I did indeed. My concern is not so much for what my rig can do (locked front and rear on 32's), but more for the number of boggy/ugly spots in the run. Fisher west, top of the world...stuff like that would be just fine. Rocky/steep/technical/river crossings...that's all good. I'd just prefer to stay away from things that leave us winching/shovelling/using tow straps frequently.

Not to say that I'm averse to those runs every now and then, but not this time out.

From the bit of Maclean I saw last weekend, the water isn't too deep and the bottom is nice and firm - not too slippery.
