Borrowed the cousin-in-law's driveway this weekend and got some parts swapped out. Most of the shocks/coils were easy to do. The passenger side front shocks was cross-threaded from the factory so that took a while to worm off with a snipe. Put on a new heavy duty steering stabilizer to absorb some more bumps, and replaced the sway links that I wonked up with a quick disco set. Also touched up some rust, and painted all my wheel's center caps black, I hate chrome. Put the wheel spacers back in too.
Am sourcing out a powder coater tomorrow, if anybody can rush my fenders through this week I should be able to install them this Friday for the run. Which would be nice, both my fronts are close to popping right off.
Anybody torn out the interior (seats, carpet, center console) of a JK before? I want to Herculine the interior sometime this summer so I can run no carpets and top down all summer, and not have a stinky soggy mess all the time. Then I can keep the carpets in decent condition and huck them back in every winter to keep it warm.
Want opinions on this. Should I bust out the money to re-gear my Dana 30 and 44, or should I just wait until I can afford some D60's and just keep these things alive for a few years?
