Let me know if you have room for one fat little jeep.  I just have to confirm with my calender (wife), but I should be able to make it if you have room.  I got my little issues worked out, and just finished cleaning the jeep from last time.  I am ready to rock and roll.  If somebody doesn't have a CB, I have a set of walkie talkies that I usually bring.  I just usually put one in a jeep without, and one with a CB so at least the jeep can keep in touch with everyone else.  Just a thought.

Randy

Sweet,Hope you and you super beast can make it Randy,Your Jeep is a blast to watch in action  :o.Just do what I do,bring your calender with you   ;D

Got the okaly dokie from the wife.  I will meet you at the usual around 8:45.  I will have the usual winch straps and bail out gear should we need to get someone to the road.  If there is something that people don't have, let me know, I usually pack a bunch of stuff but I can bring some odd things if needed (axes, chain saws, picks...).

See you then,

Randy

Just FYI: It's beginning to look like we may have to split into a couple of smaller groups so that the length of day is kept reasonable.  I'm going to look at maps and we may have to organize our trip post-Cochrane.   We are trying to keep this so that families with kids can get back at a reasonable time, so we are trying to keep this from becoming a mudfest.

Hey Tink thanks for sharing that thought.  Us folks that are adventuring with kidlets in tow need to make sure the day is not a long one.  Being back in Cochrane at 6 is a goal for us too.  If some of the other folks wanna stay out longer...go for it but be safe.  I'm thinking that it will be best to get out to the gravel pit, do our pre-trail checks, have a briefing & procede from there.

Looks like we have 11 units for the trip:

NUXJR - me
tinkerer - lead
michie
johnnyc
mhernden
aspirated
joker
jenn1981
black cheep
jeepers26
tubby89

We would ask that everyone have the minimum equipment - front & rear recovery points(winch optional), recovery strap, full size spare, cb(borrowed or otherwise), good dose of common sense, happy faces & open minds.

If there was at least one of us equipped with a shovel, hi-lift, come-along, buck saw etc, that'd be good.  I have pick, axe, hatchet, folding saw, folding shovel & other basic survival gear.

No need to go hog wild...this was originally intended to be an easy, stocker, family oriented day, but Scouts motto is 'Be prepared'!!!

Plan is to meet at Smitty's at 9:00am & head out to the pit shortly there after.

Anyone else have thoughts?

Thanks for the offer to share there Johnny.  I have frs radios too but I also have an older Radio Shack cb for loan(or sale if some wants to buy it) if someone has an antenna they wanna hook it up to.  Walmart &/or Canadian Tire have magnetic mount antennas for about $40 or go see Dean at Comtek(Roadking at Peigan Trail).

That would be perfect if this wraps up around dinner,we're bringing our daughter on this run.Don't think a 5yr old could do a full day  ;)
