Winter Builds?
« on: October 13, 2009, 10:14:30 AM »
I was just curious what other wheelers have in plan for their Jeeps; now that there is snow on the ground. Any major repairs or modifications?

ZJ ~ 3" F>R lift. 31s, tcase swap, rear axle swap.  project 3K ZJ

YJ ~ downgrade to 35s. take 2" body lift out of YJ. get it nice and low (to high for me to get in, sick of losing beltloops on my pants ;) )
          rhino line tub
swap trannies to a 6 speed with granny 1st gear. (only if money's permitting so its doubtful)
           onboard air setup
           electric fan
           one piece axle shaft upgrade
maybe re-ring on the 4.0L so she stops burnin oil.

this on top of all the other routine fixin' that is apparently inherent with Wheelin haha

New front bumper - haven't decided completely whether I'm fabbing or buying.
Rhino line the tub.
Get the dash mounted winch control for the 5 pin winch connector working.
Maybe start planning the roll cage
Fix anything else that may go boom from winter wheeling  :o

Ummmm....go wheeling one of these weekends instead of driving to Montana once a week?  :-[
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

1) 300HP stroker
2) Freshen up 5spd or do an auto trans
3) Freshen up transfer case or do an "all gear" 4:1 case of some kind
4) Get rid of rear bench and do "3rd" suspension seat w/ storage around
5) Seat belt upgrades to go w/ suspension seats

It's a pretty ambitious list... but I hope to get her all done.

All projects are put on hold until Spring/Summer now due to lack of warm and dry working space. :-\
Out comes the ATV's.

I REALLY should get around to building a garage....

2. Winterize and prep for hibernation.
03 TJ - 6" body lift and 31 MTR's, other wise stock.

It will more than likely be after x-mas. Not only do I like to procrastinate... but I think I will be helping a buddy build his Jeep this winter. I got him talked onto the ledge... now I just gotta get him to jump  ;)

I am definitely hoping for kickass  :)
