Waytec's Cherokee Flares
« on: November 22, 2009, 02:40:33 PM »
Just finished up the flares on Waytec's Cherokee.

Before pics.  Cherokee with 3.5"lift and 31's....

Ripped off the old flares and cut the opening as big as it could go.  Then bent up some tubing...

Sheeted them in....

Finished product.  Cherokee with 3.5"lift ready for 33's-35's and street leagal tire coverage...

Heads up to anyone thinking of doing their own set.....the rear passengers inside panel in the cargo area is really close to the outside sheetmetal on your very last weld of the project.......ask me how I know  :-[

The pics don't do them justice. They look much better in person even.

Thanks though. Glad you like them.

The work needed on the inner fenders in the rear to make this work was a bitch though. It was 4hrs per side just to cut and rework the rears before I bent any tube at all. The fronts not so bad.

In the end I got him about 4-5" in the rear and about 8" in the front. That turns his 3.5" lift into the same clearance as 11" up front where the cherokees can flex. The 5" improvement in the rear is plenty for a non-flexy leaf spring setup like the cherokees have.

I'd run 35's on it

33s are the plane right now but if that deal falls though and I have to get new, I am thinking 35s
Why does your Jeep say Toyota on it?
