I'm in. If there are enough rigs that we split the group into two, I'll be happy to lead the second group. Otherwise, I'll be happy to fill the midor tail gunner slots for ya Kev.

It's about time that I get these new 35's broken in.  ;D

Looking forward to wheeling with you guys in July when the XJ is trailworthy again!! :D
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

SpecialK, Do you think my libby would make it?  I'd love to bring it out again if u guys promise pull me out.

Simon, I think you have to take your XJ this time,  you have to!!  She's gonna be so sad sitting in the lot again.  I can be the passenger instead and take pics for the day... I don't mind that at all.

Top of the World eh?  I heard the guys on Saturday did that and it was fun.....er...challenging.....  ???

As long as you guys talk me through or even help me get through it, I'm willing to try!  I hope the weather is decent.

Top of the world is very reasonable  for a stock TJ, as long as it's approached from the West side. While there are a few obstacles that would cause you problems, there are bypasses for all of them.

From the South side, it's more challenging, but still very do-able with a bit of coaching from a good spotter.

From the North side, there are a few spots that would probably be challenging for a new driver in a stock TJ.

Part of the fun in being a new "Jeep person" is learning just how capable your Jeep is. I was shocked by what obstacles my JK would conquer without even breaking a sweat when I first got it. When I do my part, it still surprises me sometimes  ;)

Thanks for the vote of confidence MK but Angie the XJ is gonna be staying in Calgary this weekend. She needs some minor work before I take her on the trail. :( I appreciate the offer though!

Hey Guys,

I was talking to Waytec on ExpeditionPortal and he told me about your upcoming open run through McLean Creek.  I was hoping you guys wouldn't mind if my brother and I tag along with you.  We're still new to 4x4ing and would love to go out with some people who know what they're doing, and can teach us a thing or two about trail riding and trail etiquette.

That being said, here comes the But... I drive an FJ cruiser.  It's stock, but has the full sized spare, front and rear tow points and new 32"s.  I'm going to be camping in the McLean Cr area this weekend anyways and it'd be nice to get some more off roading under my belt.

As far as locations go, I was out there a few weeks ago so I already know where we're supposed to meet up.

Let me know.

That's really up to specialk (the run's leader). You meet the requirements in terms of specfic hardware minimums, but it is up to the run's leader if they want to have non-Jeep vehicles come along with us.

Hey Paul -  you are welcome to come out and join our run.  You will have to put up with the FJ/yota bashing though.  Besides, I let XJ's come out, what's another station wagon!  :o   ;D ;D ;D

Ya see that - it took a swipe at XJs and FJs in one sentence - ZONG!!!  ;)

See ya out there!
