Fence repair @ McLean
« on: September 09, 2010, 03:22:42 PM »
The CJA has been asked to fix a section of fence out at McLean.    Do I have some volunteers that could help out with this?  It would probably happen the weekend of the 18/19.

It's probably about 1-2 hours worth of work.

Thanks guys.  I'll pick up some wire/staples this week.  Let's meet at the store at 9:00 am on Saturday the 18th.

The fence in question is just south of the main staging area.

I want to thank all of you who came out to help with the fence repairs.  I'd like to acknowledge all of you on the forum and to SRD so please PM me if you were out.

Who ever has the pics, please send them to [email protected] so I can forward the info to SRD.

Please post up a description of all you did!

Big thank you to all the guys who went, it was my third run out with the Jeep and I had a great time!

Thanks for helping me through the tough stuff, and teaching me a little more about picking lines and what to watch out for.

it was definitely a good day, we fixed the main fence that SRD wanted fixed, it was actually 3 sections. one section we did a temporary fix as it needs post holes drilled with an auger, but anyways we managed to get a few temporary post up and marker ribbons for good visibility as that section of the fence was down for at least 3 years that i know of, so we wanted to make sure that those who are use to take that route can actually see the posts and wire. The other two sections by the creek we pulled new wire, nailed in few sections of the fence and then moved on through the mud bogs to get to the other fence. it was definitely one of the funnest runs I've been on. I'll email you the pictures that i have and Darren has the rest. Thanks for the help on the repair and a good wheeling trip. I need to get a snorkel to try the bigger mud holes ha ha.

i can post some before and after pics in here if you want.
