swr doesn't affect reception.  i would take it to Dean at the road king and have him look at it.  at least then you are able to repair/replace anything bad.

Took it over to Dean.....radio is shot, and it's a cheap one so it's not worth repairing......so.......now what should I upgrade it with?  ::)

I have the cobra 29 nw wx bt one and like it. It is a beast, but it seems to work very well. I also like the cell phone bluetooth function on it; I seem to use it daily.

You should upgrade it with another cheap CB.  ;)
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

Hmmm....I winder what would happen if we tied Johnny's hand behind his back and let your parrot have his way with him?

As long as Johnny has one hand free, and can reach his mouth.... he will never go hungry.
if we were smart with our money we wouldn't own Jeeps.

Tempting...I do like the small form factor ones.  I'm a little worried the antenna that came with the Jeep is what killed it though.

Also I've been reading, and whip antennas aren't healthy on the trails (actually, I was wondering this myself....it bounces around a lot out there), so I'm thinking I'll just redo the entire setup with a firestick, and see if I can find a better place to mount the actual radio.

So...I'll be CB-less for this run, but I'd rather do that than burn out another radio due to a bad antenna setup.
