"Site" is spelled wrong on the poster, Slte 1. Just something I noticed when I was printing a few off.

Do we have locations where the general public can drop off toys etc?

X92.9 says they will add it to a few of their news casts if we can supply information like that

Thanks Fiend.

i do have room to accept donations. It is a South location. Maybe we can have other locations as well?

i do have a question. As it is a 'hamper' for families, do we have an idea of what items would best suit the needs of the hamper?
Do they accept cash, cheque or credit/debit donations?

Thanks. You guys all rock (almost as much as that very cool poster 8)).

as for public donations do you think it would be possible to convince all the GMC/Jeep/... dealerships in town to host a box for us? if we could swing that it would make it very easy for anyone in Calgary who wants to donate something to do so. I mean don't get me wrong I have no issues sending people to spinalguys office and I'll do just that, but not everyone in the North will want to drive to Avenida.

Regarding those boxes myself and a few others could collect the items on Saturday or early Sunday and sort them into hampers if that makes sense?

I will visit them if needed, and ask them to host a box for 2 weeks. I mean I can't see them saying no honestly if it means potential customers right?

yup.  the plan is to go out and ask a few of those places to accept donations.  I will drop by modern and ask if they will accept donations. i'm sure they will.

i can also call our contact at ACH (his name is Lorne) and ask for a super specific list of things as well.

Dealerships would be a great idea.
When you guys decide, i could ask Tower as the South location instead of my office.
Anyways, whatever works for you guys.

ok so between Herbal magic locations and the dealerships that should give us a really good coverage of the city.

Everyone adopt a dealership? You'll be responsible to talking to them, convincing them to accept donations on our behalf, and picking up the donations on the 11th or 12th. (work that out with them)
I think it's better to do it this way as opposed to a free for all, as we don't need 9 people all asking the same dealership to host a box. If you know people/work there whatever post up and that location is all yours, I'll handle any left overs.

If they do say no even after a bit of convincing, leave it at that, don't bad mouth them here or anything like that, that's not what this is about. :)

  • LOCATIONS
    Modern Motors - JohnnyC

    National 4WD Center -

Various Herbal Magic Locations - Apeman

Also, Apeman, are we supplying boxes as well?, like a gift wrapped open cardboard box or something?

Lets aim to get this all worked out by Monday, I know there are open runs this weekend, but try to get it looked after today, or the day you aren't going on the run.

Edit: Let me know if I missed one of the dealerships or if you come up with another location.
Edit2: removed dealerships as possible locations unless I hear differently
